Goochland is an excellent place for tourists to visit if its their first time in Virginia. I spent a few years living there and had the chance to visit some of its best rated and most historic locations with friends and family. This area is amazing for several reasons, but in this blog post I will break down my top 3 best places to visit and why:
3. The Elk Island Winery
This beautiful small winery is an amazing place to visit for an afternoon with your partner, family or friends. Learn about the heritage of this quaint winery as well as how the wine is produced and sold to people all around Virginia.
2. Clover Forest Plantation
This aesthetically pleasing river is perfect for a relaxing Sunday stroll, and captures the natural beauty of Goochland. The Clover Forest Plantation is thriving with natural beauty and a vast history, and has been the host to many weddings over the past few decades.
1. Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery
This historic brewery is a massive piece of Goochland’s history, and even if you’re not a big beer fan you can still appreciate the award winning hospitality, food and proud heritage. http://www.lickingholecreek.com/ This old school farm based brewery is a fantastic day out for all!
